I've only been playing with this for about an hour, so I'm not really up for many questions.
The 1st info I read said that it supported png files for textures.
This was the result, it replaces the transparency with black. This is ok as far as it goes, but it is difficult to see subtle sheer sections. As for black clothes...
To get a more realistic result I went down the same route as for mannis.
1st open the mesh you want to work with.
Design your item as normal and obviously save it in your working format (.xcf, .ps, etc.).
When you are ready to test it, change the background to a skin type tone (I've used #f7b088). I haven't put any clothes on this, but I do find the mesh view is useful for planning outfits.
Ordinarily you hide any backgrounds and save as a png, do not do that in this case. Keep the skin tone and save as a jpg.
Click File-Open (ctrl+O), navigate to the "Obj Files" folder in the Designer Kit and choose the relevant object file.
I have used "HF_Upperbody_Nude MediumPoly.obj"
You can rotate the object by either using the buttons at the top of the screen or right clicking on the screen and using your mouse.
To apply a texture, left click ON the object to select it. Clicking elsewhere on the screen will deselect it.
The object will turn orange (a) (as I said I have only played with this for about an hour, so other colours may be available or used on different OS or versions)
Then press the "Instance Property" button (b).
Now check the "Use Texture" box at the bottom right, this will unlock the drop down box (not sure what this is for) and the "Browse..." button.
Search for the jpg you saved earlier and click "Open".
If you have selected the wrong one by mistake, click "Browse..." again. Clicking "Cancel" clears the selection but also starts the next browse at the default folder.
You can rotate the picture in the same way as before (buttons or right click and move your mouse)
And when you are ready, click "Done" in the bottom right
You can take a snap shot.
Deselect the object, by clicking elsewhere on the screen. Then either the 2nd button from the right or ctrl+p will bring up the dialogue below. You can play with the settings.
The snap shot option is available in the "Instance Property" screen, but will return a black picture.
Notice I have set the texture as the background, this could potentially allow for shots for UVC and UVD
The final SS -
